Resumption of Face to Face Sessions

Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Safeguarding Policy

It is important that this therapy space feels safe for you/your child.  Let’s work together to ensure the safest possible service, and to minimise the risk of Coronavirus in our community.

Should you need to cancel your/your child’s session for one of the following reasons, you can do so without the usual prior notice and without charge:

if you/your child have travelled overseas, in the last two weeks

if you, your immediate family or child think you have been in contact with anyone who has, or is suspected of having the virus

if you/your child, or anyone in your immediate family, has one or more of the following symptoms: fever, coughing, difficulty in breathing, fatigue

Within the art therapy room, you can be assured that all used surfaces and art materials will be disinfected after each session.

Art making will happen with a 2 metre distance between you/your child and I.

Absorbent or intricate art materials are stored behind a transparent screen and will be accessed only by me on you/your child’s direction.  Once used, these materials will be kept in your/your child’s box, kept out of circulation for 72 hours, or disinfected and returned.

The sofa blanket will be replaced after use.

We will sanitise our hands at the beginning and end of sessions.

I will open and close the artroom door, as usual.

The room will be ventilated, when possible, during the session and always in between sessions (you may have a preference to maintain ventilation even on colder or wet days).

Gloves and masks are available upon request for both yourselves and for me, according to your preference.

I also recommend that we all adhere to the following simple steps:

cover our mouth and nose with a sleeve or tissue when we cough or sneeze

if we use tissues, that they be placed in a bin thereafter and our hands washed

generally wash our hands properly and often

resist touching our face if we’re unsure if our hands are clean

avoid close contact with people showing flu/upper respiratory infection-like symptoms

If you wish to access more information regarding current precautionary steps, what to do in case of suspected infection etc, please use the following link and phone number:

Let me know if you would like access to further materials.

If you/your child have concerns in relation to the virus, the therapy space is a good place to share and ground this anxiety.  We can review these points with your child in an age appropriate way during our first face to face meeting and as needed.

I have read, understood and agree to the above precautions and recommendations.

I also understand that while every reasonable measure will be taken to ensure that the artroom is contaminant free, that this cannot be completely guaranteed.
